Visions for Masterminds: How You Think Directs How You Grow

Uncategorized Sep 24, 2020

When you lead a mastermind group, you focus on helping people think about their future. Having well-defined goals is part of success. Leading others means showing them how to craft a vision that compels them to reach those goals.

A vision is the overall “dream state” you wish to reach. This is who you want to be, attributes you want to have, how you want to feel about yourself, and how you want others to feel toward you.

Is your mastermind business led by vision? Or is it just led by your current business model? I haven’t found a better blessing on this earth than guiding others. That’s my personal experience with masterminds, but I’d love for it to be the same for you.

It’s good timing too, because people are lost. Everywhere you look, they’re seeking comfort or the easy way out. If you have the chance to reach one person, you can reach more. The only thing stopping the size of your “impact” is the scope of your vision.

Dozens of our mastermind members know this, and they’re taking appropriate steps to adapt. We’d love to have you join so you can grow your vision.

Why Does My Mastermind Need a Vision?

This is my tough question to coaches and mentors: Have you created a vision for yourself and your group? If not, you’ve got work to do.

You shouldn’t be in charge of helping others with their vision unless you’re consistently growing your own. As leaders, we should practice what we preach. If not, people will see right through us, and our impact, influence, and income will suffer.

How you think, speak, and act determines how fast you go from your current level to where you want to be. The members of your online mastermind group will feed off the energy you emit. If you maintain a positive, futuristic outlook, so will they!

Have you ever felt that people around you just aren’t giving 100 percent? I’m sure you have. When that happens, the first thing to do is take a look in the mirror. Are YOU giving 100 percent? Are you fired up about what’s going on today, tomorrow, and the day after that?

The point is, you’ve got to lead people AND project energy. I don’t know of a better way to do that than through vision. When you’ve got clarity for who you want to be, the rest follows naturally.

If you’ve ever been “in flow state,” you know what I mean. You hold better conversations. You show up better, more consistently. Your focus is unshakeable. Why? Because you’re dead set on where you’re going.

When your intentions are true, and your passion is visible, you can do anything. I want you to dig deep when you think about why you started a mastermind group in the first place. Maybe it was to expand your circle. Or maybe it was to provide others with a network of like-minded peers.

Whatever the reason, you need a way to build on it, and you won’t find traction without a plan that goes further than gaining the next member. Nor will you inspire your current members to outperform their expectations.

You’re also going to need help thinking through your plan. That’s another reason you should join a business mastermind like Iron Sharpens Iron.

How To Grow The Vision of Your Mastermind

I suggest taking stock with your current members. Challenge them to describe their vision. It’s one of the best exercises they can go through as a group. Watch how this brings people together!

It’s easy to sell yourself on your vision. But it’s quite another task to motivate others. We’ve had members share their visions with each other, and it’s led to some amazing conversations!

  1. It forces you to get clear

If you share your vision, there’s nowhere to hide. That’s a good thing! Sometimes you’ll see a leader who exemplifies the phrase “Do as I say, not as I do.” Don’t be that guy or gal. Be bold, and articulate your vision for the future. This will force you to get clear on who you are and where you’re headed.

  1. It inspires others to dream bigger

Give your group members a vision to rally around. Think of the halftime locker room speech in any classic sports movie. The coach rallies his players. He tells them what they’re made of, and how they can come back to win it all. The players get fired up, and go back out and put a whooping on their opponents.

  1. It causes action

A larger story helps people see how much more they can achieve. When you get people focused on the future, it drives action. There’s nothing like a culture of massive action, if you want to grow your mastermind groups online.

If you need help to push your vision just a bit further, Iron Sharpens Iron is a great place to do that. Click below to join one of our masterminds online.
